In Memory

Lawrence Caldarelli

Died in 1992 at 51

A good soul, Highwood boy; son, grandson, brother, cousin, husband, father and friend; suffered early on with severe asthma; strong beyond his size, could really tag a baseball in Little League, worked and bowled the lanes at Mary Janes, quickly pinned some opponents on the HPHS wrestling mats and fast on the track in the dash too; never entitled but not a complainer, worked long and hard maintaining North Shore landscapes; a beautiful smile, some knew him as "Nose"; he enjoyed a good laugh, walked an extra mile to help you out; gone way too soon for us, remember the good times! A good soul....

I really felt bad when I heard about Larry's passing. We went all the way through Oak Terrace together. I remember Larry as an outstanding athlete and the fastest runner ever! He always won every single race and we all wanted him on our team. He was always the first to be chosen!

Although I never saw him much after elementary school, we always knew he was around. I fondly remember a picture of him and me in 5th grade that was printed in the Highwood News. I should be able to find it. We miss you, Larry!
