I retired in 2004 after 20 years with U. S. Steel and 20 years with the City of San Jose. I had two great careers with two wonderful organizations. My only comment now is, "I don't know how I ever had time to work!"
2014:
I am now completing 10 years of retirement. The time moves so swiftly. The weeks are Saturday, Saturday, Saturday, Saturday, Saturday, Saturday, Sunday. Three and four week vacations are gone in an instant. Life is good.

I used to walk to Ravinia School with Patsy. She wanted to be my "girlfriend" and made me promise to marry her at one time. Oh well. She was a good friend in 4th and 5th grades before I moved away to New York.

I sat next to John at commencement. There were special awards that were given out and he received one of the most prestigious ones. At this time I have no idea what it was but, as he was getting up, I asked him, "Did you know about this?" In a very shocked manner he said that he did not. That was John.
