John was in most of my vocational shop classes during high school. After high school, I didn't see John again until he was in the Army and home on leave when he came by my house and we caught up on what he had been doing. Before he went into the service he had been working as a machinist/toolmaker. That was the connection between us as I was also interested in that line of work. We had a motorcycle connection in that we both had them. About three years ago I hunted him up and called him. We talked three or four different times on the phone. The last time I spoke with him he was taking care of his older brother Bob after an accident. He had taken care of him for quite a few years. He was looking forward to retirement and was going to put his brother in a nursing home. I hadn't realized he had passed away until Eric Engberg contacted me. He will be missed.
