Comments:

Leading The Good Life in two locations seems to suit us just fine. Most of the time in Philadelphia; winter in Alabama. Despite extensive travel, I have never been to Paris. That will be remedied in May 2015. Update June 2015: Paris was exactly what everyone said it is. No other city like it. I wrote a lengthy journal if anyone wants to read it -- contact me via email: Laney234@aol.com.

After HPHS:
Lawrence Univ. = B.A. English Lit., 1963.
Northwestern Univ. = MBA Mktg. & Finance, 1978.
1963-65 = Nat'l. College of Educ. (Evanston), Admissions Counselor.
1966-83 = Corporate communications and marketing career in Chicago at Illinois Bell Tele., Nat'l. Safety Council, Nat'l. Assoc. of Realtors, Chicago Title & Trust Co.
1983 = relocated to Philadelphia as freelance Business Writer (writing primarily for banks, law firms and accounting and consulting firms) until retirement in 2007.
Currently: I write travelogs and poetry. And tend a plot in the community garden. My most recent goal is to edit hundreds of poems I've written in the last 30 years to create a volume, "Best of Delaney."
My husband is Paul Neuwirth, CPA, retired partner of Grant Thornton, LLP. We have dual citizenship: One is our city townhome in Philadelphia; the other is our second home in a golf course community in Gulf Shores, Alabama (for the winter months). Paul's 3 sons have produced seven grandsons, all in suburban New York. The first of seven Bar Mitvah's occurred in July 2013. Next one was September 2014.

Beginning 2011: I am now a WHITE-HAIRED lady, having decided at age 70 to see what color my hair really is.
2014: If I can figure out how to insert an updated photo, I will. I now have an iPhone 4S, so I am trying to remain relevant. (LOL) Update June 2015: No, I still can't decipher how to upload a photo onto the class website.

School Story:

One summer shortly after graduating from HPHS, I had one date with Eugene Altman, who arrived (to my parents' horror) on a motor cycle, which I happily boarded. Off we went, from Deerfield to HP. Later that same evening, Gene took me back home -- in his father's Jaguar, much to my parents' relief.
Apparently, I became an Honorary Member of the Cross-Country Team during lunch hour at the HPHS cafeteria. I happily traded mock insults with "the boys," including John Farr, Jimmy Phelan, Hal March, and Mike Andersen.
Not to be exclusive, I also recall nooontime sparring gently with Tom Pulver (my then-boyfriend) and Sam Zell, whom I thought was destined to become a rabbi.
My usual lunchtime companions were Cynthia Jacob, Jean Altman, Julie Thomas, and Pat Rau. At a nearby table, were other favorites: Karen Cheli, Connie Linari, Pam Lenzi and others from the neighborhood.
As "Deerfield Girls," we were not eagerly embaraced by the Highland Park girls, but the Highwood Girls were our buddies. The tri-level social strata were clearly delineated at the time -- teen psychology. Today, we're all equal -- at least, in my Advance Adult view.

Gene stole my line:  Jeff was indeed a brilliant classmate. He was also thoughtful and sensitive. I am glad to know that his brilliance took him so far professionally and that he retained the special qualities that were so evident to us who knew him at age 17. I send condolences to his family on the loss. Truly, Rosalie Ward Delaney Neuwirth.

Patsy -- as we called her at HPHS -- was always smiling. Her good nature and good humor sparkled, even under durress. My recall is lots of laughter wherever Pat was. We've lost an exemplary classmate who looked at the bright side until the end. Smiling back at Pat, Delaney (Rosalie Ward Delaney Neuwirth).

Congrats, Steve! -- you must be the very LAST of our class to reach the noteworthy age of 75. As a peer said to me, she is now considering how to spend the NEXT 75 years. Cheers to all, and a timely New Year's celebration to you. Delaney the Deerfield Girl.

You made it! The rest of us have been waiting for you. Soon the whole Class of '59 will be age 75. Good for you; good for us. Keep on keeping on, right? Cheers, Delaney (a.k.a. Rosalie Ward Delaney Neuwirth)

Happy Landmark Birth Day, Karen! Three-quarters of a century for most of us in the Class Divine -- and much more to come. Stay active (and hydrated). LOL, Delaney.

In my neighborhood in the Queen Village section of Philadelphia, Nancy's passing is much mourned. Nancy taught many of many friends' children at Meredith School. She was as extraodinary as George Harmon's write-up. Parents loved her, too. Two of my friends worked with Nancy at Meredith School. We are trying to find out where and when (and if) a memorial service is scheduled in Philly. Nancy truly made a huge difference in the lives of MANY children and adults. Remember at HPHS when we called her "Nanny Wolff"? It was a nickname with much affection attached. Our loss.  Delaney.

Eric was an Original. His high intelligence and outrageous sense of humor were a delightful combination on any stage. I treasure his wild and impish and insightful e-mails. Sending condolences to Judith, the love of his life. Delaney.

Eric's spontaneous humor was as joyful as his over all approach to life. One of a kind classmate. A loss to all of us who counted on his intelligent commentary and never-fail wit.

Welcome Back to the Mainland, Gene. We missed you.
Maybe you'll find the alleged pirate cache. Then we'll all come visit...
